Why Steam Deck is not a console?

Regular desktop Steam with a huge game store, chat and cloud - everything we love about Steam, only on a laptop: BUT - one big one BUT, on Steam Deck you can screw Windows, Yes! This is stated by the developers themselves, that is, we can play, for example, Fortnite, through Epic Games! Essentially this normal work/gaming PC, By the way, through the docking station you can connect a monitor and a keyboard - which will make it a full-fledged PC
Steam Deck - the “iron” part

Screen: 7 diagonal screen with resolution
1280 by 800 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio, weird choice). By the way, it is touch-sensitive, with 60 Hz screen refresh. And also other characteristics: Bluetooth version 5, batteries for 2-8 hours (Valve conducted a test with Portal 2, for example, if you lock it at 30 fps, then the SD will last 5 hours!) But the weight is scary: 700 grams!
My opinion
Steam Deck is a very interesting thing, but given the failures of Steam Mashina and Steam Controller, it’s very scary for SD, I hope Valve will do everything right and SD will be at least on par with Switch.
